Configurator Update: Version 0.5.4
Dear MoveMaster Community,
alongside firmware version 0.3.4, we are also releasing configurator update 0.5.4. Among other improvements, it includes a combined view of both devices as well as keybind labeling. You can find the complete release notes here:
### Added
- New combined view: MoveMaster and Button Commander can be displayed and configured together (also for left-handed devices)
- Custom key labels can be assigned to each key, saved, and loaded
- The application is now fully bilingual (German/English), switchable in settings
- Keyboard layout can be selected independently of the language
- Dark mode available
- Confirmation prompt before deleting a configuration file
- Window position is restored on next launch
- Number of connected devices shown in the interface list
- Firmware update now shows a countdown hint (with a cancel option) when a device requires pressing the reset button manually
- Each release now includes a platform-specific README and a guide for recovering from a failed firmware update
### Fixed
- Firmware update no longer resets device type, key mapping, and double-tap configuration
- Configuration is reliably read from the device again after refreshing the interface list
- Fixed an error when operating MoveMaster and Button Commander at the same time
- Loading a corrupted or incomplete profile no longer causes an error
- Fixed a crash when no device is connected
- Error message is now correctly displayed in the selected language
- Fixed window sizing on Linux (Wayland scaling) and Windows, where the sidebar would partially shift under the image
- Firmware update files (avrdude, firmware) are now bundled directly into the app package instead of a separate external folder - fixes an issue on macOS where flashing failed after the first launch of the downloaded app (Gatekeeper App Translocation)
- Firmware flashing mechanism fundamentally reworked: significantly more reliable flashing on Linux, Windows, and macOS (including Classic and RSG/1 boards)
### Changed
- More reliable firmware version detection
- Revamped user interface
- Linux: the application now reliably starts in compatible X11 mode under Wayland, taskbar icon and window grouping fixed
- Reworked device type selection: clearer names (e.g. "MoveMaster RSG/1 R" instead of "MoveMaster R", "MoveMaster L classic" instead of "MoveMaster L"), a more sensible order, and added tooltips to better distinguish variants and individual controls
- macOS: separate builds for Intel (x64) and Apple Silicon (arm64) instead of a universal binary
Thank you very much for your support and feedback!
